Beers

We currently have four year-round beers and a range of seasonals available.

Core beers

London Steam Lager

(The original Gold Rush.)

Year round

Pale gold and scintillating. This lager has a subtle malt sweetness layered with a noble slightly spicy hoppiness and then drenched in lemon and peach notes from the Liberty and Crystal hops.

    Malts

  • Lager
  • CaraGold
  • Vienna
  • CaraPils

    Hops

  • Galena
  • Sterling
  • Crystal
  • Liberty

    Yeast

  • Lager

Picnic Session IPA

(Can-tastically hoppy..)

Year round

A fantastic 4 hops combine to give this easy-drinking IPA its citrusy-berry blast of aroma and palate-tingling bitterness. Drink all-day every day.

    Malts

  • Pale Ale
  • Munich
  • CaraMalt
  • CaraGold

    Hops

  • Chinook
  • Citra
  • Mosaic
  • Eldorado

Commonside Pale Ale

(Pale and interesting, but a bit on the wild side.)

Year round

Fresh as newly mown grass, golden and sparkling; the Cascade and Centennial hops from the Willamette and Yakima valleys of Oregon lie at the heart of this U.S. style Pale Ale.

    Malts

  • Pale
  • Low Colour
  • CaraMalt

    Hops

  • Nugget
  • Cluster
  • Cascade
  • Ekuanot

Thames Surf IPA

(Radical hop waves. Wipe-outs a distinct possibility.)

Year round

This West-Coast IPA shimmers with warm copper tones from its pale and crystal malts, but break through the surface and you’ll find a wave of Centennial and Simcoe hops that crashes into your mouth.

    Malts

  • Pale
  • Munich
  • Low Colour
  • Cara Malt
  • CaraGold

    Hops

  • Simcoe
  • Centennial
  • Chinook
  • Amarillo

Spring beers

Spring Break Sour

(Pucker Up.)

March – May

Your taste-buds can expect a good zapping from this grapefruit and salt kettle sour. Light and wheaty with a citrus hop-burst from Lemondrop and Eldorado hops.

    Malts

  • Lager
  • Wheat Malt

    Hops

  • Chinook

    Other

  • Grapefruit Zest
  • Salt

FruitBowl IPA

(Not so ‘Innocent’.)

March – May

It’s like having your five-a-day but enjoying it as well. Mango, Passion-fruit and Pineapple puree and lime and pink grapefruit zest. As if that wasn’t enough, Ahtanum, Amarillo, Chinook, Citra and Eldorado hops help out too.

Little Critters Pale Ale

(Streuth! That’s bloody nectar.)

March – May

Passion fruit and grapefruit leap out of this Pale Ale like a kangaroo in the spring. Balanced by a robust malt base of wheat, oat and biscuit malt. Far too good to export.

    Malts

  • Pale
  • Wheat
  • Biscuit
  • CaraMalt

    Hops

  • Galaxy
  • Centennial

Summer beers

Red Wheat N’ Blue

(Now, if only Violet Beauregarde had drunk this instead.)

June – August

The warm blush of summer ripples through this blueberry wheat IPA. Mosaic hops gently coax out the bursting berry flavor and the red hues of a summer sunset shine through the haze.

    Malts

  • Pale
  • Wheat
  • CaraGold

    Hops

  • Mosaic

    Other

  • Blueberries

Ball Park Lager

(Not too leftfield..)

June – August

An easy drinking home-run of a beer. Only 4.0% and dry-hopped with Mandarina Bavaria, Huell Melon and Pekko hops. Light refreshing and sessional. You could drink a couple and still face a few pitches at Fenway Park.

    Malts

  • Lager
  • Vienna
  • Munich
  • CaraPils

    Hops

  • Pekko
  • Huell Melon
  • Mandarina Bavaria

Autumn beers

Rock Lobster New England Pale Ale

(Watch out for those bikini whales. .)

September – November

Hazy, juicy and very pale, this New England pale ale delivers a fruit bomb of flavour courtesy of the Sultana and Simcoe hops that sit on top of a silk, lush malt base.

    Malts

  • Extra Pale
  • Oats
  • Wheat
  • Dextrin

    Hops

  • Sultana
  • Simcoe

    Yeast

  • New England
  • London

Wicked Good Ale

(Sorry! No room for the wool of bat or toe of frog..)

September – November

A truly wicked concoction of toasted malts and pumpkin with a bewitching blend of spice and a splash of maple syrup. Willamette hops add a devilishly bitter glint. Orange hues flicker like a copper cauldron caught in the candlelight.

    Malts

  • Pale Ale
  • Special B
  • Biscuit
  • Aromatic
  • Munich

    Hops

  • Willamette

    Other

  • Autumnal Spice Blend

Calif-Oregon Amber

(Cooler than a sunset drive down Route 101.)

September – November

A rich deep malty ale with the inner glow of a Californian self-help guru. A cool Pacific breeze from Bravo, Willamette and Crystal hops help to give it the necessary zip.

  • Aromatic

    Hops

  • Nugget
  • Willamette
  • Crystal

Winter beers

Pret a Porter

('Ready to wear'...on your tastebuds. .)

December – February

Not quite a bedtime drink, but the mountain of cocoa nibs that go into this brew will certainly warm you on a cold day. Boosted by a toasty roasty malty backbone.

    Malts

  • Pale Ale
  • Dark Crystal
  • Chocolate
  • Black

    Hops

  • Nugget
  • Willamette
  • Cascade

    Other

  • Cocoa nibs

Patriot Pale Ale

(The quarterback’s breakfast..)

December – February

This pale ale starts with a light caramel and biscuit base and layers it with notes of citrus and rosewater from the Columbus and Amarillo hops. Just right for your next tailgating party! ...or a nice game of beer pong @ the Taproom!

    Malts

  • Pale
  • Oats
  • Munich
  • CaraMalt
  • Low Colour Crystal

    Hops

  • Pekka
  • Columbus
  • Amarillo

Maineline IPA

(Intravenous hops anyone?.)

December – February

We were feeling a little experimental with this IPA. A soft warm and sweet maltiness comes from the use of golden oats and malted and torrefied wheat. On top of that you’ll find a massive hit of juiciness from the Denali, Mosaic and Idaho 7 hops.

    Malts

  • Low Colour Ale
  • Oat
  • Wheat
  • Light Crystal
  • Flaked Barley

    Hops

  • Idaho 7
  • Mosaic
  • Citra
  • Cashmere

Hop Junkie DIPA

(A spaced odyssey.)

December – February

When the cravings strike, look no further than this Double-hopped Double IPA. A luscious malt bill supports an addictively dank and citrusy hop fix.

    Malts

  • Pale Ale
  • Vienna
  • Flaked Barley

    Hops

  • Bravo
  • Denali
  • Cashmere
  • Idaho 7

Brewery

The Belleville Brewing Co. was set up by ten dads, all with children at Belleville primary school, south west London.

I suppose it all started with two words: ‘catchment’ and ‘area’. Something I didn’t think about when moving to south west London. When it was time for my son to go to school I soon realised that finding a school was going to be a challenge. The day before term started an offer came in from Belleville School. I was so relieved that I vowed to do as much for the school as possible.

A seed was planted when I heard that another school in the area had organized a beer festival as a fund-raiser. I put the idea to the PTA who whole heartedly agreed on an evening for the ‘dads’.

The day I collected the beer for the festival was an epiphany. I had grown up in Sussex drinking Harveys and King & Barnes and hadn’t realised what had happened to the brewing scene in my home county.

The success of the beer festival inspired me to start brewing myself. The kitchen became my brewery and I entered two of my own beers the following year. Several dads made encouraging remarks and Mark, our numbers man, came up with a plan. After a few false starts, we found Jaggard Way and Belleville Brewing Co. was born.

I grew up drinking session bitters from the likes of Harveys in Lewes and King & Barnes in Horsham. Badger’s Tanglefoot and Exmoor Gold soon joined them as some of my favourite brews, but then something happened.

I found a shop in London that stocked the likes of Mickey’s Big Mouth, Pete’s Wicked, Brooklyn Lager and Sam Adams and was instantly hooked on American beer.

Having worked and holidayed a lot in the U.S. I have had a chance to drink my fair share of craft ales and it is these that I have sought to emulate when formulating the recipes and brewing the beers.

My first pumpkin ale was Buffalo Bill’s Pumpkin Ale from just outside San Francisco, and whenever I see Sierra Nevada’s Porter I will always buy a bottle. Low Ryeder from Sweetwater is a wonderful award-winning ale and Anchor’s Steam Beer is my go-to thirst quencher.
